TVS0500: Which parameters are needed to select a ESD protection for VBUS line?

Hi,

In the list, TVS0500 is suggested for VBUS 5V.

Last time, I did not use specific ESD diodes (like TVS0500) for VBUS line. The part was TPD1E10B06.

Please help me to specify which parameters are important to decide a ESD diode suitable for VBUS.

Hi Cameron,

I watched this course before. It mentioned Working Voltage, Breakdown Voltage, IEC 61000-4-2 Rating, Clamping Voltage, Parasitic Capacitance.

Referring these parameters, TPD1E10B06 (generic ESD) and TVS0500 (VBUS ESD) are all ok.

What advantage do I get from specific VBUS protection ESD instead of the normal ESD?

Please help me to clarify that.
