TL16C2550: Difference between TL16C2550 and TL16C752D

Part Number: TL16C2550
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL16C752D

Hi,

Could you please tell me the difference between TL16C2550 and TL16C752D ?
Additionally, could you please let me know if there are any cautions for the software control ?

Best regards,
Kato

  • Kato-san,

Are you looking for software differences or feature differences?

From the software control side, the 752D has an EFR and additional features which means in certain software sets ups, you may run into issues where you write/read to an expected register but end up writing/reading from a different one. AFR would be an example where this could occur in the 752D, this did not exist in the 2550 but could be written to if LCR 7:5 were 100. EFR would be another register this could occur. MCR/Xon1 and LSR/Xon2.

For features, 752D has 64 bytes for the FIFO. software flow control, IrDA support, and internal prescaler option.
