TUSB212: Redriver not detecting high speed link

Part Number: TUSB212

I’m digging into an issue with the TUSB212 USB 2.0 Redrivers that we have on a board and am running into a condition where the redeliver is not detecting the 480Mbps High Speed link. The redeliver is actually causing more degradation of the signal than if the chip wasn’t there.

Do you have any insight into what might be going on with the driver not detecting a High Speed link? This is primarily happening when we place the host on our Mux side of our switch and the device on the Common side of the switch. The mux side is one of four outputs that goes through two USB 2.0 high speed muxes to a connector, the common side is directly from the driver to a connector.

For the C Switch, we’re getting peak to peak values for D+/- at around 280-320mV on one side of the device and around 360-370mV on the other side of the device. Higher values are on the host side of the device. This is with the TUSB212 active at 60mV DC Boost and Level 1 AC Boost, if we go up to Level 3 AC boost (the other option we have with the current hardware configuration) the device won’t establish a link.
