Can you help provide the output differential pair impedance of DS26LV31T? Our customer needs it for proper consideration of termination techniques as specified on our several app notes. Thanks in advance.

    Jejomar,

    What's the load condition of the application? In general, termination in RS-485 matches the cable characteristic impedance for signal integrity purpose. You can refer to section 6 in this app note.

    To estimate the device impedance, you can use the Vod table in the datasheet. For example, assume the device generates 2V on 100Ohm. The current taken out the device is 20mA. Therefore the impedance of each side (P/N) is about (5V-2V)/2/20mA = 75Ohm.
