DS90UB936-Q1: GPIO input / output when connected to DS90UB913

Part Number: DS90UB936-Q1

Hi all,

I have a question about connecting DS90UB913 and DS90UB936-Q1.

Input signal to GPIO of UB936. No signal is output from GPIO of UB913.
Do you know the reason for not outputting?
The register setting of UB913 is 0x0D = 55h (default).
The register setting of UB936 is 0x0F = 7Fh (default), 0x11 = 00h (default).

I have something to caring about.
UB913 has 4 GPIOs. UB936 has 6 GPIOs.
I think the number of input and output GPIOs is different.

Please give me some advice.

Best Regards,
Ishiwata

  • Hi Shuji,

    What is the value of registers 0x04, 0x1f, 0x35, 0x4c, 0x4d, 0x4e, 0x58, 0x6d, 0x7d on the ds90UB936.

    Regards,
    Mandeep Singh

  • Hi Mandeep

    Thank you for contacting me.
    I check the contents of the register with the customer.

    I noticed. The DS90UB936-Q1 data sheet has the following contents.
    7.4.13.3 There was a description in Forward Channel GPIO.
    Is remote GPIO control possible when UB913 and UB936 are connected?

    Best Regards,
    Ishiwata

  • Hi Ishiwata,

    Yes, that shouldn't be an issue. Please let me know once you have those register values, so we can diagnose what's going on with the boards.

    Regards,

    Mandeep Singh

  • Hi Mandeep

    Indicates the contents of the customer's UB936 register.

    0x04=0xC3(def)
    0x1f=0x02(def)
    0x35=0x00(def)
    0x4c=0x01
    0x4d=0x00(def)
    0x4e=0x00(def)
    0x58=0x58
    0x6d=7F
    0x7d=0x00(def)

    I noticed that we must select GPIO of UB936 with 0x6E.
    I advised the customer to set 0x6E.

  • Hi Ishiwata,

    Looks like you don't have LOCK, which means there's no link/communication between the two parts. Before you even go into GPIOs, you need to first establish a stable LOCK between the two parts. The Back channel speed on the 936 is correct and the MODE is set-up for RAW10. On the 913, is the mode RAW10? Are you able to talk to the 913 by itself? Can you get a register dump of the 913 registers, so we can confirm it's operating. What mode is the 913a MODE, External OSC or PCLK from Imager?

    Regards,
    Mandeep Singh

  • Also, what is the value of REFCLK that is going into the 954 REFCLK pin 5? Can they please measure/ensure that this working properly.

  • Hi Mandeep

    Sorry to bother you.Thank you for your support.
    The link of UB913-UB936 has already been established.
    RAW data is output normally in MIPI.
    Customer contacted me.
    By setting 0x6E in the register, GPIO input to UB936 output to GPIO of UB913.
