DS90UB948-Q1: DS90UB948-Q1 GPIO 0,1 port noise

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB947-Q1

Hello

My customer tested the DS90UB948-Q1 for abnormal waveforms on the GPIO pins. When registers of GPIO0 (No. 7) and GPIO1 (No. 8) are set to output, noise occurs as shown below.

For reference, noise is not generated in GPIO0 and GPIO1 of the DS90UB947-Q1.Why does noise occur when I set the DS90UB948-Q1 to Output?

Is this related to the Multifunction port? Can you please advise me on the HW or SW solution to this problem?

Please Check it.

Thank you

Best Regards

From Anthony

  • Hi Anthony,

Thank you for providing the scope shot and your detailed description.

    Have a few questions/actions:

    1. Which pin on the 948 is associated with LCD_RST?
    2. Which pin on the 948 is associated with LCD_STB?
    3. What are your configuration settings for these pins on the 948?
    4. Does this noise occur only when the pin state is initially set or always when the pin state is output?
    5. Please send another scope shot but also include the lock pin (if a 4 channel scope, please replace one of the 947 signals).

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler

  • Hi Anthony,

Haven't heard back in a while - hopefully no news is good news and the issue is now resolved.  If not, please let us know the current state of the debug and answer the questions above.

    Thanks!

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler
