TUSB422: Continued CC communication causing interrupts, Understanding the State Machine

Part Number: TUSB422
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB320

Hello,

We are using the TUSB422 in a DRP mode for power only. We are not using PD, only 5V up to 3A options.

When we plug in a Type C PD charger to our TUSB422, the devices get configured correctly for 5V at 3A but after a few seconds of the CC lines have communication occurring again and an interrupt is generated on the TUSB422. This behavior repeats every time after the 5V at 3A is agreed upon.

Is this behavior expected? (continuous communication on the CC lines for voltage/current levels)

Are we missing a register setting to prevent this continuous communication?

Secondly, the datasheet doesn't have a state machine/flow chart which is making it difficult to understand why we are getting stuck in this loop.

Thanks,
Nick
