TMDS181: AC coupling HDMI (TMDS) input

We have 6Gbps (HDMI2.0) data coming in on board and going into TMDS181 with AC coupling in between in our past design.

We are making new board and planning to use same circuit. Is it ok to put AC coupling caps before TMDS181?

HDMI 2.0>> AC coupling caps >> TMDS181?

Why not using DP159 instead TMDS181?

DP159 supports DP++ to HDMI, which is AC-coupled HDMI.

Can DP159 accept AC coupled HDMI signals?

We are getting signal from this device which need to be fed into equalizer.

Yes, DP159 accepts AC-coupled HDMI input.

In my application, AC-coupled HDMI input signals are ranging from 480i25 to 4Kp60. Data rates are as low as 135Mbit/s.

Will DP159 work in that case?

you may need to use auto mode ( redriver/retimer) mode with low data rate. it should work unless your system is very noisy.
