DP83822IF: Link Time(2)

Part Number: DP83822IF

Hi,

On October 9, 2019, Mr. Vibhu provided the following response. I have a related question about this.

RE: DP83822IF: DP83822IF's link(4)-2

Hello,

The Signal Detect must be used when using 100BASE-FX. I do not have a measurement for this but link time should be < 1s.

Thanks,

Vibhu」

We are evaluating products that use your PHY (DP83822IF). In order to ensure compatibility with existing products, we want to minimize the time until MII starts (actual measurement 200 ms) after reset release.

When connecting the PHY (DP83822IF) and the optical module (AFBR-5803x) in the fixed mode of 100BASE-FX instead of auto-negotiation, please answer the following items.Signal Detect is used.

(1) Time until PHY outputs preamble after reset release in SD enabled state

(2) Time from when the PHY inputs the preamble (SD input enable) to when it enters the link state

(3) Tme to enter the link state after the PHY is released from reset with the preamble (SD input enable) already input

(4) The following four conditions for the link are presented. If these conditions are satisfied, will the link time on the actual measurement be 200 ms?

  1. Reads HW Config through strap pins

  2. Checks if signal detect is used or not

  3. Transmit 100BASE-FX signal

  4. Configures receiver to receive 100BASE-FX signal

    (5) What exactly does item 4(Configures receiver to receive 100BASE-FX signal) of link condition do?

    Regards
