Hi team,
for now, we have some question about SN65DSI86:
1)whether sn65dsi86 have enough ram for 2080*1350 to 1920*1280?
2)for now, we only have 4lane for design, can you give us some advise for design?

Hi team,

Hi Zhanpeng,
1. 2080*1350*24*90 = 6.06Gbps. The DSI86 can support this but only with more than 4 lanes, since each lane only supports up to 1.5Gbps
2. With that frame rate and color depth, you will need more than 4 lanes for 2080*1350.

I.K.
Hi I.K.
Since our customer prefer to use 4lanes, if we decrease the 6.06Gbps to 6, can DSI86 support that?
or if we want to use 4lane, How much should we decrease in Color depth?
hi,I.K
SOC has only 4 lanes,so no lanes can be added.
But only 1920x1280 is LCD's active Areas, adding H sync and V sync,Total line is 2080x1350,So question is that H sync and V sync time can be recoveried by SN65DSI86 or must be transfered from DSI port to eDP port?
thanks
The DSI86 is just a bridge, so the HSYNC and VSYNC time must be transferred from the DSI port (see section 8.4.4.6 of the datasheet).
For the data rate, the DSI lanes can support up to 1.5Gbps max per lane. You can use the equation:
(total horizontal pixels * total vertical pixels * color depth * frame rate)/4 ≤ 1.5 Gbps to determine the value of the parameters that you can use to support only 4 lanes.

I.K.
