    Hi Kent, 

    TCAN1043G-Q1 is a CAN transceiver with the main function of translating digital signals to and from a CAN bus. It is designed to be driven by a CAN Controller device or other MCU to handle the data that is being transmitted or received. This controller will typically be responsible for checksums, timestamp, and frame count data. TCAN1043G-Q1 does not do any data processing save for various fault conditions, wake-up detection, dominant time-outs, etc.
