DS90UB948-Q1: lock pin and display are flashing but pclk is clean...

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1

My customer use 927 and 948.

The signal of lock is flashing, which also result in the display flashing.

I asked customer to test the eye diagram, and found that it is quite ok...

Our requirement is as following:

PCLK is 66.7MHZ, tIJIT < 0.25*1/(35*66.7MHZ)=107.25ps

The measurement result is following: smaller than 107.25ps

Any other advice?

Thanks!

  • HI, what is the eye-diagram?

From this picture, if it is the serial data, then the serial data rate is ~430Mbps which can't be supported by our FPD-Link.

if it is the pclk measurement result, the PCLK freq. is ~210MHz, also it can't be supported by our UB927 and UB948.

So please check what is the eye-diagram test in your above plot firstly. After you identify the PCLK jitter which is good, you also need check how about the jitter generation in the serial data, maybe the transmission medium degrades the signal integrity and makes the link unstable.

    regards,

    Steven

  • Hi Steven,

Sorry for mix... Here is the PCLK information.

It seems the jitter is 676ps, higher than 107.25ps.

The jitter may lead to the unlock and no pass, right? which may lead to pass pin/lock pin/Dispaly flashing, right?

I will ask the customer to change to clear PCLK source to have a look...

  • Yes, you are right.

regarding the PCLK jitter request, you can check the d/s.

    best regards,

    Steven
