P82B96: Please confirm our use-case can be used

Part Number: P82B96

Hi Experts,

We are going to use this device with below conditions.Could you please confirm it?

VCC1 : 3.3V

+V : 5V

VCC2 : 5V

Regards,

Uchikoshi

  • Hey Hisao-san,

Is Vcc1 connected to +V? (The schematic kinda looks like it looks it is.)

Is Vcc1 is not connected to +V then I believe your set up should work. The S side actually looks to see if the voltage is below ~600mV to drive a low. Rx looks at 55% and 45% for ViH/ViL on the cable side. So using pull ups at a different rail other than the device's Vcc can work. The only concern is VoL of our device can be as high as 0.9V so we I2C compliant slaves/masters need to be at a Vcc of 3.3V or greater for it to be able to connect directly to P82B96.

    Thanks,

    -Bobby
