USB to serial/optical converters

Hi,

I am conducting EMC tests on a new board and I would need to optically decouple the signals on USB. I wondered if by chance you have EVM or similar ready to use or, perhaps, integrated that act as USB-serial / optical converters. Of course, in this last case, I should create the circuit and face the optical question of the connectors, correct?

Hi Antonio,

Thank you for posting to E2E! TI does not have an Isolation EVM or dedicated IC for USB-signal isolation at the moment.

Using a standard digital isolator for isolating USB signals today requires an external USB transceiver and an MCU supporting ULPI interface. Can you share a schematic or block diagram of the board being designed?

Hi,

The idea was to evaluate whether it was possible to find or simply build a board to convert the USB electrical signal into an optical one, so as to make it immune to EM fields during EMC tests.
