Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS100MB203, TMUX1574
Hi guys,
my customer wants to know, if DS100MB201 2.5Gbps Ethernet. I know in the datasheet it says up to 10.31215 Gbps.
Kind regards,
Marion

Hi Marion,
The DS100MB201 does not support any Ethernet nBASE-T signals which are designed to operate on twisted pair copper cabling.
I would recommend using the DS100MB203 for other Ethernet signals like 10GBASE-KR (ethernet over backplanes)

Hi Lee,
thank you for your answer!
Would also something like TMUX1574 work to just Mux the signals?
Kind regards,
Marion
Hi Marion,
It is "possible" the Mux could function in some applications, but I would be concerned about the electrical compatibility between the Mux and Ethernet signaling. Also, ethernet has a relatively strict electrical compliance mask which may be impacted by the Mux insertion.
I am unaware of any electrical testing with this part and Ethernet twisted pair signaling.

Lee
Hi Marion,
The TMUX1574 (2:1 (SPDT) 4-Channel) is good choice for supporting 2GHz bandwidth with supply range of 1.5 V to 5.5 V.
Please let me know if you have specific questions about the mux.
