DS90UB934-Q1: what happens if coax mode /STP mode is not set correctly?

Hi!

I am doing failure mode analysis and want to know what happens if Pin strap for cable mode setting is fail, such as open or short go GND and not set correct mode. When I want to set to STP mode and schematics is designed for STP, and device detects Coax mode for some reason, what will happen on 934?

Does the device receive the data correctly, or cause some errors, or any possible fail mode?

Hi Ito-san,

This shouldn't make any difference. The device should still be able to receive data correctly.

Hi Ito-san,

The original intent was to differentiate a single-ended driver and a differential driver. But the FPD-Link driver is differential by nature, regardless of what's set in the register.
