Hi Koji,
I am a little confused by the diagram and your question. Do you mean you are using the DP83822 on one board and then DP83640 on another? On this diagram you are showing both DP83640 on the boards.
Thanks,
Cecilia
Hi Cecilia-san
Sorry for lack of explanation.
My customer is considering using DP83822IF and DP83822IF or DP83640 and DP83640.
I confirmed DP83822IF and DP83822IFin a separate post.
I am confirming this time about the connection method between DP83640 and DP83640.

Koji Hayashi
Hi Koji,
You will need to add the magnetics as well. Please refer the design guide app note for reference on schematic design.

Hi Cecilia-san
Thank you for response.
I read the design guide.
"2 MDI (TP / CAT-V) connection" states that capacity can be used instead of magnetism.
I also read SNLA088, but there is a description of the capacity in "C: Single Cap Isolation Topology" of "6 Topology Considerations".
Is additional magnetism needed ?

Koji Hayashi
Hi Koji,
Yes you are correct. I was not aware that you wanted to use single cap isolation topology. An additional magnet is not needed.
Thanks,
Cecilia
Hi Koji,
I am not sure if I am following. Which section of datasheet are you referring to in the DP83822?
Thanks,
Cecilia
Hi Cecilia-san
Thank you for response.
Please see Table 75 on page 75 of the DP83822IF data sheet.

Koji Hayashi
Hi Koji-san,
Thanks for the clarifation. I don't believe the DP83640 has the same features outlined in Table 75 of the DP83822. Therefore, you can't do line driver class selection.
Hi Cecilia-san
Thank you for response.
I understand.
