Hi Team,

 

We understand that according to the PCIe Specification, Differential Impedance of PCIe Gen1 is 100ohm and PCIe Gen2/3/4 is 85ohm.

And, Differential Impedance of DS160PR410 is 100ohm.

 

Can I use DS160PR410 for PCIe Gen2/3/4?

And, could you please let us know ohter device(Differential Impedance is 85ohm) if you have a recommended device?

    Hello-

    Yes, the DS160PR410 is designed for PCIe Gen-4, but can also be used at Gen-1 through Gen-3.

    The DS160PR410 meets all TX and RX  PCIe specs .  The  PCIe Gen-4 spec for the DC differential TX impedance is 120-ohms (max).  There is no spec for the DC RX impedance at Gen-3 and Gen-4.  Instead, the single-ended impedance is bounded by the RLRX-CM (common mode return loss) to 50-ohms +/-20%.
