AM26C31: difference between AM26C31 and DS26C31

Part Number: AM26C31

Dear team,

Currently, My customer are using DS26C31 and they are trying to change to AM26C31 because of price issue. But there is issue on it.

Input signal

- Ch1 input 1A : 0 to 300KHz pulse signal

- Ch2 input 2A : 1 pulse per 1K pulse of input 1A signal

The output timing of DS26C31 Ch2 is stable but the output timing of AM26C31 ch2 is not stable. So there is an error once in a while on their test equipment.

I think there seems to be interference between the channels. Is there any specification of inter channel interference?

At datasheet, I can't find significant difference. please let me know your opinion.

Thank you.

  • Hi Dino,

Channel-to-channel crosstalk is not specified for this device, and I'm not aware of any issues related to it.  Can you please let us know more about the errors your customer is seeing?  Are they seeing toggling on Channel 2's output that is coincident with toggling on Channel 1?  Is any issue observed at the input to Channel 2? Would it be possible to capture both the inputs and outputs of Channel 2 on an oscilloscope (ideally with signals from Channel 1 as well) when the problem occurs so that we can take a look at the waveforms?  Also, could a schematic showing the interface circuitry be shared?

    Regards,
    Max
