Hello all,
which are the side effects if PDB goes up with VDDIO ?
Can I move PDB pin with a digital output ?
How long I should keep it low to assure the right behaviour of DS92LX1621 ?
Thank in advance
Stefano

Hi Stefano,
I am not sure of the side effects but If you allow the PDB to raise with VDDIO the device may not operate correctly without a PDB reset.
Yes you can move the PDB with a digital output.
We typically recommend a reset pulse of 2ms will be sufficient.

Despite on our prototype we missed the RC circuit on PDB pin we can establish an I2C communication to SER and also to DES over the high speed link. Moreover data injected on the SER side appear on the DES side as expected.
So what do you mean when you state "device may not operate correctly without a PDB reset" ?
Thank in advance
Stefano
Hi Stefano,
What I mean when I state "device may not operate correctly without a PDB reset" is that I cannot guarantee that the device will function as intended without this PDB reset. This could be the devices not being able to take in data correctly or it could cause the FPD-Link to not work correctly sometimes. I do not know the exact errors that could manifest because of no PDB reset. TI can only guarantee that the device will work as espected if you follow the datasheet requirements.

Michael
