I have a question for serdes latency of FPDLink.

I think, there is the translate latency on ser & des, FPDLink and also in serdes, there is line buffer.

1) what is the serdes latency, normally ?

2) and is there any differences when I configure 2 * port serdes or 4 * port serdes ?

Hello Minwoo,

The same answer applies for 960. There should be no significant difference between 2 port or 4 port

I have one more question for link answer

it shows that the latency is effected by 2x Line buffer size.

but I don't understnad exactly.

To display 1 line, Device must prepare and send the 1-line pixels within 1-line time. (to prepare & send next line)

but answer is 2x 1-line time (20us x2 = 40us, 1280x800 at 60hz),

can I undestand like below ? :

- if 1280 x 800 at 60hz,

- 20 us = whole line time (us) = 1680 pixel

- 2x 20 us = 40us // <- max latency at first pixel transffered

- 1x 20us // <-- normal latency at every line

Hello Minwoo,

Yes your understanding is correct. The device can buffer up to 2 lines so max latency is ~2x the line time but it could be lower than that as well.
