My customer would like to modify the PID, VID of HUB into their own number.

Would like to consult with you whether it will have compatible problem with generic driver? Thanks.

Hi,

Changing the PID and VID should not impact the generic USB Hub driver functionality.

Hi Malik,

There are still a few questions about modifying the PID / VID from customer.

(1) What is the address of external EEPROM corresponding to PIV / VID?
Is the data at other addresses filled with 00? Or FF?
(2) Does TI have a tool or recommended freeware to modify PID / VID via USB port?

Hi Feng,

The EEPROM sub-address is listed int eh datasheet. Customer should refer to vendorIdMsb, vendorIdLsb,productIdLsb, and productIdMsb to change the VID and PID of the USB Hub.
We do have a EEPROM writing tool that we can provide via direct message. Please except my friend request so I may share.
