Hi Jimmy,
Could you also describe Symmetrical PD function?
Do you have the current TPS6583B Application Configuration Tool with the Tapex Creek Project?
Thanks,
Scott
Hi,
For the PD Symmetrical is the function of either ports can support 60W first basing on our design(60W, 15W),
and the other port will automatically be 15W.
As for the Config Tool, yes, we did use it (version 4.13)on our project
Thanks,
Hi Jimmy,
I need to research this request and will update on Monday.

Hi Jimmy,
To enable the Source Policy Master feature, select the Tapex Creek project with Dynamic Charging. Follow the Intel Thunderbolt reference design, making sure that each TPS65983B is connected correctly. The Dynamic Charging project will prepopulate the Source Policy Master register. This will ensure that there is a Master and Slave device with I2C communication between them.

Hi Jimmy,
One possible answer is that the PD contract must have "capability mismatch" set in order to allocate extra power. It may be that one device sets this and the other does not.

Scott
Hi Jimmy,
I need to check into this and will reply back by Friday.

Hi Jimmy,
The PD source relies on the sink to set "Capability Mismatch" as a notification that the sink could make use of a higher power contract if offered. I have seen other situations where a device does not implement the logic to set this flag when offered a sub optimal contract.
