DS90UB934-Q1: connect 8 data outputs to processor

Part Number: DS90UB934-Q1

Hi team,

I have some quick questions from customer. Below is the interface of their processor, it has only 8 data inputs. 934 has 12 data outputs, can I use 8 outputs and leave the other 4 not connected? From my understanding, it is OK but I still have some questions to confirm with you regarding to this application.

1. Which mode should I configure in 934, RAW10, RAW12 or both OK?

2. If RAW10 mode is enabled, should I use ROUT0-7 or ROUT2-9 or both OK?

3. When connecting 934 with 8 data outputs to the processor, it cannot pair with 953 in DVP mode, right? Only when connecting 10 or 12 outputs can it support 953, right?

4. Any other points should be pay attention when using only 8 outputs? Thanks for your help!

Best Regards,

Arie

  • Hi Arie,

That is correct, you can use 8 pins and it is up to you who you want to configure them LSB or MSB.. You can use RAW10 or RAW12, I recommend RAW10 since you'd be wasting more bandwidth with RAW12. In terms of 953, that use case might have issues because there's some strict guidelines when using DVP mode with 953.
