Dear Sir, please answer

I use DP83630 & PIC32MX microcontroller. I use MII interface. I used quartz crystal 25 MHz connected to X1, X2 inputs of the DP83630. I'd like to replace quartz crystal with the external generator 25 MHz (connected to X1 input of the DP83630).

QUESTION: Is it necessary to make changes to the PIC32MX microcontroller program code in connection with this replacement? The fact is that, the program code for the PIC32MX was written long ago and I would not want to change it.

Hello Vladimir,

I do not expect any register changes necessary. Please ensure that the oscillator meets the 50 ppm requirement.

Is the DP83630 CLKOUT being used? If so what are you clocking with it and what are the requirements?
