DS90UB947-Q1: DS90UB947-Q1 SPWG vs OpenLDI configuration (possible datasheet incoherence)

Part Number: DS90UB947-Q1

Dear,

On DS90UB947-Q1 datasheet, we have found some information that seems to be contradictory (but maybe not):

According to table 6, when MAPSEL is 0 => OpenLDI mapping; 1 => SPWG mapping

On the opposite, on table 10, when MAPSEL is 0 => SPWG; 1 => OpenLDI mapping

Could you let us know if this information is good or if there is any errata on the datasheet? Which one is the correct value?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards.

  • Hello Roxu,

    Thanks for pointing this out. There has been some inconsistency within the industry regarding these different terms so I would recommend going by figures 14-16 which show the bit positions and using this as a reference:

    MAPSEL = H - MSBs on D3

    MAPSEL = L - LSBs on D3

    Technically OLDI and SPWG have the same mapping scheme (MSBs on D3), while LSBs on D3 should be referred to as "JEIDA"

    The register nomenclature in 0x4F is reversed but again you can go by the MAPSEL H/L to determine the MSB or LSB on D3 orientation rather than by going off the names OLDI/SPWG which other vendors sometimes flip flop.

    Best Regards,

  • Hello Casey,

    Thank you very much for the explanation.

    I have found another incosistency regarding the single/dual pixel mode:

    According to table 6, when OLDI_DUAL is 0 => Single pixel; 1 => Dual pixel.

    According to table 10 (OLDI_IN_MODE) when OLDI_DUAL is 0 => Dual pixel; 1 => Single pixel.

    Is it due to the same circumstances than before?

    Best regards.

  • Hello Roxu,

    Please see the notes under table 8. The OLDI_IN_MODE value is inverted from the strap value.

    Best Regards,

    Casey

  • Hi Casey,

    You're right, I missed this note...

    Thank you very much for your kind help!

    Best regards.
