Can I use the part TUSB9261 to convert SATA signal to USB signals?

Hi Shafeeq,

TUSB9261 is only a USB to SATA bridge. USB side of TUSB9261 will not act as a DFP (host), only UFP (device).

Hi Malik,

Could you please explain awhat 's the typical application for converting SATA signal to USB signals?

The device is called USB to SATA bridge. Does that mean the device convert USB signals to SATA signals?

And form datasheet application : PC with USB port -TUSB9261-HDD with SATA port, I assum that the bridge is bidirectional signals communication. Thanks.

Hi Tess,

The electrical signals are bidirectional however on the USB side there are additional protocol requirements that prohibit this application. In short, converting SATA to USB implies that you want TUSB9261 to act as a DFP or USB Host. TUSB9261 is only intended to be used as a USB device or UFP then converting to SATA.
