DS90LV011A: High speed LVDS interface query

Part Number: DS90LV011A

Kindly help with more details related to DS90LV011A.

  • Maximum loads can be connected to (Multidrop)
  • Maximum distance supported
  • Maximum Speed which can be supported with Max Load , Max Distance.

Have looped in customer for direct response / adding further details.

  • Hi Prahlad,

This question has too many variables to answer properly.

It is generally possible to make a few (3-5) loads work at 100 Mbps

Beyond 5-6 loads, the speed goes down as the number of loads goes up.

The DS90LV011A is not specifically designed for a multi-drop load network.  The MLVDS devices will work better in this situation.  They can supply a higher current to the load which allows a termination at each end of the network.

The other critical variable is the stub length to each load.  As stub length increases beyond 0.5 inches, there will be a reduction in the maximum possible datarate.

There are IBIS models of LVDS and MLVDS devices available, it is a good idea to simulate this type of topology before building hardware.

    Regards,

    Lee
