TUSB2036: Port 2 is not enabling the PWRON2# term

Part Number: TUSB2036

Power Enable on Port 2 is not going active to enable the load switch.

  • In our usage case the hub is supporting an fixed device and an external USB port.  Given that the port is embedded what configuration (NPINT0/1) should it be set to?  We are also configuring the hub to be not bus powered, is that correct?

    Thanks,

    Dean

  • HI Dean,

Per Table 1 in the datasheet, if only one port of the two ports is non-remvoable, that port would have to be Port 1.   The hub can be bus powered or self powered, how are you powering it?  Does the host controller enumerate the hub?  The power switches will not be enabled until the host enumerates the hub.

  • We have port 1 attached to the non removable device.  Port 2 goes to the external USB TYPE A connector.  The hub has been enumerated but port 2 power on does not go active.  The hub has been enumerated.  I can send you a schematic if that would help in how it is configured.

  • I just sent you a friend request so you can provide me a schematic directly.   Does the non-removable device show up?
