TUSB4020BI: Configuration question for TUSB4020

Part Number: TUSB4020BI

We plan to use the TUSB4020 in a embedded application.  One port will be externally available and the other port with have a fixed device attached.  How would you configure the part in this usage case?

  • Dean,

Functionally you can configure the hub using the pin settings (Fullpwrmgmtz, Ganged, PWRCTL POL and Battery Charging will all depend on the application.  If you are looking to get a USB-IF compliance logo on the application, you would need to use EEPROM or SMBUS to set the non-removable (internal) port via the register settings.

  • Also, please note that USB_VBUS should only be high when a powered host is connected to the hub.  We do not recommend attaching USB_VBUS to a power rail that is always on.
