DP83867IR: Reset by power toggle

Hi,

My customer carried out surge test for the DP83867IR, it shows abnormal behavior.

Its behavior is improved by not hard reset but power off/on reset.

Which power line(e.g. VDDIO) of DP83867 should they turns off/on?

How much should the power line be dropped then?

Thank you for your reply.

The abnormal behavior is various as followings;

・Link down(not recovering)

・Lack of LED current

・Not accessing to register by MDIO

Hello Kuramochi-san,

Where is the surge test being carried out on is it the voltage pins or MDI lines. You will have to experiment with your voltages to identify the cause for this.

I would encourage you to look into some of the diode protection parts to add to the surge path.

We can't specify tested pins because test is carried out on their system.

How about following first question?

This will be a trial and error effort on your part. You will have to debug and see what happens.

Where is the surge/voltage curve applied? If I am not understanding this test correctly please provide more details on the test.
