SN65DSI84: Questions on power consumption and I2C initialization.

Part Number: SN65DSI84
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DSI-TUNER

Hello, there

I have some questions on SN65DSI84, please help to answer me.

1.  On datasheet page 7, I think there's a typo on VCC.  Should it be min 1.65V/ nom 1.8V/ max 1.95V ?

2. Do you have current consumption data of 1920x1080?

On datasheet page 8, there's only 1440x960 example and max 150mA current consumption.

How about conditions below?  How much consumed current will this 1080P case be? Please provide a reference current value for 1080P case.

1920x1080

(a) number of LVDS lanes = 2 x ( 4 data lanes + 1 CLK lane)

(b) number of DSI lanes = 4 data lanes + 1 CLK lane

(c) LVDS CLK OUT = 148.5 M

(d) DSI CLK = 500 M

(e) RGB888, LVDS18bpp

3. Do you have I2C initial sample code?

Thanks

  • Hi Max,

    1. You're correct.

    2. Sorry but we don't have data for those conditions. You can still use the values provided in the datasheet as a reference though. The typical/maximum values will just be higher. However, note that you won't be using a 500 MHz DSI CLK for that resolution in your application.  For 2 x 74.25 MHz LVDS clocks, the DSI CLK should be 445.5 MHz.

    3. We don't have sample code, but you can use the DSI-Tuner to assist you in configuring the device registers.

    Regards,

    I.K.
