Dear,

My customer has one notebook application need support two typeC port, one is used as full function and the other is for USB3.0 only.

Here is a scenario that there is adaptor connected to the USB3.0 only port, at this condition, EC need know the situation and give notice in the system to say the wrong connection.

Could you please help check how to set the FW and let EC to distinguish the power connection?

Hi,

You can identify USB capability of the far end device by looking at Source capability packet on plug event of that port.

Please check TPS65988DJ TRM for interrupt events (0x14 - 0x19 IntEventX, IntMaskX, IntClearX Registers) and how to read Source capability message.

Hi Prajith,

Could you please help confirm which resistor should be read?

I can only find the "USB Communication" message in 0x1A register bit 23:22, can this bit be used in this application?

So when only adaptor is inserted, there is no USB and DP connection, we can check the ox5F resistor to know this situation, am I right?
