Hi,

I've some questions about Digital_reset / Software reset field in DP83825I PHYRCR [14] register.

what is its real function? what is it useful for?
What is the difference with the other on chip resets? for example:
1. Reset pin
2. Reset, in BMCR [15]
3. Software_Hard_Reset, in PHYRCR [15]
4. PCS_Reset, in MMD3_PCS_CTRL_1 [15]

Hello Marco,

The reset pin, BMCR[15] and software_hard_reset will restart the PHY and reset all registers.

The Digital_reset will only restart the PHY, but will not reset any registers.

PCS reset will restart the PHY and reset the PCS, MMD3 and MMD7 registers only. (a quick search of the datasheet will give you what these registers are)
