Hi, we are planning to build a system which uses 15 USB 3.0 cameras to take pictures. The idea is to use five USB hubs with three ports each for the cameras. Each HUB uplink port will be connected to an 5 port hub which uplink port is connected to a USB 3.0 controller.

Want is the effect of cascading two USB 3.0 HUBs on bandwidth?

The PN we think to use for the USB HUB is the TUSB8041.

Hi Danilo,

The application you mentioned will work, but the bandwidth will be limited by the USB host controller. Your application will have a single 5G connection from the host to the top tier hub for 15 cameras. The hubs will have minimal impact on the bandwidth since all scheduling is done by the host.
