DP83867IR: DP83867IR GMII mode register dump.

Good morning,

I have a problem with DP83867IR in GMII mode.  I cannot exchange ethernet frame with the Host system.

To be honest I don't know if this is an issue with the ethernet PHY or with the MAC.

We already used this PN in RGMII mode and we have never had problem.

One strange thing I see doing the dump of all the registers on MDIO is that all the extended registers are at 0.

Can you confirm that this is OK?

    Hello Edoardo,

    It may be the case that you are reading and possibly writing to the extended registers incorrectly.

    Please refer to "8.4.2.1 Extended Address Space Access" for the correct procedure.

    Thanks.

    With your suggestion I reverified the MDIO access and discovered that the MDIO write operation were not properly correct.

    Now I'm able to access all the registers and I have the GMII working.  Then I will verify that all the ethernet frames are properly received and not lost.
