DS90CR286AT-Q1: LVDS to HDMI converter

Part Number: DS90CR286AT-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TFP410

I am looking for 4- lane LVDS to HDMI converter that has operationg temperature of -40C to 85C. I found this thread https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/t/245963?LVDS-to-HDMI-Conversion-Options but the part https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/sn75lvds82.pdf that was suggested was only rated 0-70C.

Can I use DS90CR286AT-Q1 instead to be paired with TFP410? Is there any special consideration like voltage levels that I should be careful about?

Thanks.

  • Hello,

You can use these devices to convert HDMI to LVDS, but you need to note the followings:

    1- TFP410 is also rated from 0 - 70C

2- DS90CR286AT is outputting the signal only on the rising edges.

    3- The  DS90CR286AT supports PCLK from 20MHz to 66MHz. and the TFP410 has a range from 25MHz to 165MHz.

  • Hi Hamzeh,

My application is LVDS -HDMI conversion and not the other way around. I'm sure you are aware of that although you mentioned convert HDMI-LVDS.

Can you confirm #2 below if its ok?

    1. Similar chip TFP-410-EP is rated -55 to 125

    2. Yes DS90CR286AT is outputting the signal only on the rising edges but TFP-410-EP can accept both single ended / differential clock source. The rising edge should not be an issue, I just have to configure TFP-410 as single ended rising edge trigger, am I correct?

    3. Our LVDS Clk is only running 62MHz so we should be ok.

  • Hello Tor,

    1- Correct.

    2- Correct.

    3- Okay.
