I'm facing issues with the Gen2 sata connectivity.
I'm trying to make changes during the operation of the repeater and SSD connected.
First, I did a configuration of bypass mode by this set:
0x01 = FCH
0x0D = 02H
0x0F = 00H
0x14 = 02H
0x16 = 00H
With this set, I can work fine with Gen1 sata connectivity. once I changed in the bios to Gen2. sometimes the SSD disk doesn't detected, and sometimes it have many errors.
So, I did some experiments, I tired to configure register 0x23 for the whole variations:
It seems during the normal operation (Gen1) the change of the register doesn't affect anything, I didn't notice any changes in the operation of the specific SSD. I thought maybe a reset, or a message of non functioning in Windows.
So, I tried to reset the repeater by sending FF to 0x07, again no changes. the SSD disk works without any reset:
I saw the repeater did reset the registers to default mode, but it seems that doesn't affect the operation of the repeater.
I'll like to continue my experiment to find the correct value. please advice what can I do further.
