Please check section 7.4.3 in the 948 datasheet for bit mappings.

I was thinking more of how it maps onto the actual FPD-Link III itself. Any reference material along these lines will be very helpful.

Hello Go,

We do not provide detailed information on the exact FPD-Link frame mapping as this is proprietary information, however I can tell you that 948 uses 35 bit FPD-Link frames. You can find some general information about FPD-Link framing in this video:
