TLK2711 RXCLK

I have a questionss about the RXCLK on the TLK2711 that the datasheet does not seem to address.

Does the RXCLK toggle on the interface before COM detection? Also does the RXCLK toggle when LOS is detected?

Is there a simulation model available for the TLK2711 (verilog or VHDL) ?

Hi Keith,

The RXCLK will be active as long as the TLK2711 is enabled and a TXCLK is present. It is up to the device interpreting the received data to monitor RKLSB, RKMSB, and RXD[15:0] and determine whether or not the data is valid.

I've attached an IBIS model for the device that can be used for simulation. I don't know of any VHDL or Verilog models available.

Also, I just wanted to point out that the TLK2711 is not recommended for new designs. We recommend using instead the TLK2711A, which is an exact equivalent in functionality and parametrics.
