Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD6S300, TPS25833-Q1
Hello,
I want to use the TPS25833 to have an USB-C connection on an USB 2.0 Hub.
My idea is to have a 5 port USB 2.0 Hub. 4 downstream ports are used with normal USB-Type-A connector with 500 mA current.
But the 5th connector on the HUB should be an USB-Type-C connector. Can I use this chip for such a usage?
Is it necessary to use a TPD6S300 between USB-C connector and TPS25833 to prevent any shorts or overvoltages or is the TPS enought?
On USB-C connector I only want support 5V / 1.5A with USB 2.0 and not more. It has no charging function. Only for USB 2.0 communication (SDP).
At what current should the external MOSFET be used instead of Buck Average Current Limit?
Thanks for any help.
Regards,
Dani
