DS90UB954-Q1: Interface forum

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Dear Sir,

Please help to check DS90UB954-Q1 it’s work with following application. Below is our ideally block diagram and SPEC.

  1. FPD-LINK CSI-2 Synchronous mode (24MHz) with coaxial POC.
  2. Camera 1: 2M/1080P FHD/30fps, MIPI 2 Lane, 12-bit RAW data output through by DS90UB954-Q1 CSI-2 Port 0 without Camera 2 data.
  3. Camera 2: 4M/25760x1456/30fps, MIPI 2 Lane, 10-bit RAW data output through by DS90UB954-Q1 CSI-2 Port 1 without Camera 1 data

Q1. In this application we want 100% Separate two camera data, it’s possible by DS90UB954-Q1? (not by replication mode creates two copies)

Q2. Above 2M+4M/30fps total data rate and bandwidth its support by DS90UB954-Q1?

Q3. It’s any Spreadsheet we can directly calculation 953/954 data rate and bandwidth?

Q4. Whatever, please confirm above block diagram about 954 CSI-2 Port 0 and Port 1 pin define its correct?

Q5. Please check it’s any two camera applications reference design and design notes for us to reference.

  • HI Michael,

Q1. In this application we want 100% Separate two camera data, it’s possible by DS90UB954-Q1? (not by replication mode creates two copies) Do you mean camera 1 on CSI-2 port 0 and camera 2 on CSI-2 port 1? If so,you won't be able to achieve that with the 954 (unless you assign virtual channels to the two imagers and use replicate at CSI rate 1.6Gbps per lane to output both cameras, the camera bandwidth should support that). Otherwise, you can use the 960 instead.

Q2. Above 2M+4M/30fps total data rate and bandwidth its support by DS90UB954-Q1? Yes

Q3. It’s any Spreadsheet we can directly calculation 953/954 data rate and bandwidth?  The line rate will always be 4Gbps, as long as your bandwidth is lower than that it should work.  5123.TI Imager-Serializer Data Rate Calculator v2.0 -- Non-NDA.xlsx

Q4. Whatever, please confirm above block diagram about 954 CSI-2 Port 0 and Port 1 pin define its correct? Looks correct to me.

Q5. Please check it’s any two camera applications reference design and design notes for us to reference. You can check the schematics in the user's guide:
