TUSB4020BI: Using Ti's default VID and PID for end customer mass production products.

Dear TI support team,

We have identified TUSB4020 as USB hub chip in our design. We would like to know what is TI recommendation in terms of Vendor and Product ID values in the USB device descriptor? Is it allowed to use default VID and PID of TUSB4020 in device mass production?

As getting Vendor ID registered with the USB IF will add cost to this project. Does TI provide an option to use TI vendor/device IDs?

Hi Kirill,

Yes, TI allows customers to use the default VID/PID that is hardcoded into the hub device. You only need to change the VID/PID if you wish to do so. If you decide to get a formal USB certification of your product please contact us again if you are requested to provide a Letter of Authorization.
