SN65DP159: Is its DDC singal able to driver cable ?

Part Number: SN65DP159

Does SN65DP159 support HDMI2.0 on DDC channel? Usually, this chip will connect to a long cable. Do I need to place a addtional I2C bus extender chip to drive long cable for DDC channel, or just connect SCL/SDA _SNK directly to HDMI connector to drive cable?

DDC is an I2C bus in the kHz range. You may not need a I2C bus extender chip. But you may need an I2C buffer to isolate the DDC capacitance in order to pass the HDMI compliance: https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/t/575945?TI-recommendation-for-HDMI-DDC-CEC-buffer-.

Hi David:

what is the "ACTIVE DDC BLOCK" in functional block diagram for? Is it a level shift block? I found on both fig 30 and 31, SCL_SNK and SDA_SNK directly connect to HDMI receptacle with pull ups to 5V.
