Part Number: TIC12400-Q1
Hi team,
With only one channel of TIC12400-Q1, is there any way to detect whether it is connected to VBAT, GND or Floating?
If yes, would you please let me know how to configure it?
Thanks,
Sam Lee

Hi SamLee,
Have you configured the CS_SELECT register - please see details Steps to Configure TIC12400-Q1 Multiple Switch Detection Interface (MSDI) to configure this register.
For ground-connected switches, program the wetting current to source by setting CS_INx bits to 0 in the CS_SELECT register
For batteryconnected switches, only inputs IN0-IN9 of TIC12400-Q1 may be enabled.
Thanks

Hi Saminah,
Thank you for your feedback. However, my question was, is there a way to detect three states(VBAT, GND, Floating), without adjusting CS_SELECT? Your answer doesn't seem to be possible, but I want to double check.
Thanks,
Sam Lee
Hi Saminah,
I have one more question.
Would it be okay if it toggle CS_SELECT repeatedly to detect the status? In that case, the settings of CSI/CSO will not be sometimes matched with each Battery/GND connected switch.
For example, is the port (IN0~IN9) okay even if battery is connteced at the settings of CSO?
Thanks,
Sam Lee
Hi Sam Lee,
it’s okay if battery switch is connected on CSO setting or if GND switch is connected on CSI setting – This is where you need to follow the datasheet. The ground connected switches need to be connected to CSO and the battery connected switches to CSI.
This device has current sink option on 10-channels and hence these 10 can be used to monitor battery connected switches. All 24-channels have current-source option for use with ground connected switches.

Saminah
