TUSB4041I-Q1:Behavior when USB memory 3.0 (2.0 is also supported) is inserted

Part Number: TUSB4041I-Q1

When a USB memory (sony USM32GU) is inserted, the host PC may or may not recognize the memory. This memory is a product that also supports USB2.0 with USB3.0. Since TUSB4041I-Q1 is 2.0Hub, I think the USB memory will work with 2.0, but why is it incorrectly recognized by the host PC?

The VID and PID for the device when misrecognized is VID_0000 & PID_0002, and the Parent Device is USB \ VID_0451 & PID_8142 \.
If successful, VID_054C & PID_05B8 and Parent Device is USB \ ROOT_HUB30 \.

Other than this USB memory, no misrecognition has occurred so far. Is there a possibility that the combination of USB memory (USM32GU) and Hub (TUSB4041I-Q1) is not good?

  • Hello,

That is a pretty common USB stick drive that we have tested before.  What OS is running on the host PC?  If it is windows, can you send us the usbview.exe or usb device tree viewer details when the problem occurs?

    Can you confirm that:

    1.  There is enough power supplied to the stick drive, no droop on VBUS.

    2. The hub is still showing up as connected to the host when the memory is not seen.

    3.  Does the behavior change if another device is placed on one of the hub downstream ports before the Sony memory is installed?

    Regards,
