Hi TI,

I have a system like this.

TI 941 is connected to 2x different, physically, TI 948. and both 2x different Slave IC #A and #B have same I2C address.

and for slave IC, I can't change slave IC address to other one.

in this situation, when I access by I2C, is there any method to distinguish slave IC #A and #B by TI 941 ser, at the same time ?

Hello Minwoo,

In the 941AS, you can choose with which Deserializer you want to communicate by chosing register 0x1E bit 0 for Port0 and bit1 for Port1.

In general, we do not recommend using the same DES IDx to avoid conflicts.

If changing the DES IDx via hardware is not possible, it is possible to do that via registers. In the 948 register 0x00[0]

I will check the register 0x1E and I have one more question.

In this situation, when I receive IRQ from TI 941, I can't distinguish that this IRQ is from where slave IC #A or #B.

When I receive IRQ from 941, is there any method to find out which slave sent this IRQ ?

IRQ means "Interrupt",

I know IRQ is Interrupt service requested.

You can differentiate between them only f you use two different Pins, INTB (Pin 30) indicates Port1 remote interrupt, and REM_INTB indicates Port0 remote interrupt.

You can configure this in reg 0x30[3:0]=0001

One more question for REM_INTB,

I read from the datasheet, 'REM_INTB' is mirror signal from Des IC.

--> I understand for your answer:

if I make a system with 2x Interrupt path (in SER : INTB + REM_INTB) and (in DES: 2 signals in { INTB_IN, GPIOx } ),

can I use 2x different interrupt from different slave ICs, simultaneously ?
