DS16F95QML: Flight and engineering model part numbers for DS16F95QML EIA-485/EIA-422A Differential Bus Transceiver

Part Number: DS16F95QML

Hello,

I am currently busy with component selection for a space project.
We are considering to use the DS16F95QML for an RS-485 interface.
I am however a bit confused with the part numbers I find in the datasheet.

Part numbers listed in the datasheet:
5962-89615012A; 5962-8961501PA; 5962F8961501VHA; DS16F95E/883; DS16F95J/883; DS16F95W/883; DS16F95WFQMLV;

Can someone point out which part numbers are flight and which part numbers are engineering models?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Thijs

  • Hello Thijs,

    5962F8961501VHA and DS16F95WFQMLV are the same part and both numbers are marked on the part.  It is orderable by either number. This is the 300 krad, space grade part as indicated by the SMD (5962) number.  V is for space and F is for 300 krad.

    The other parts are military grade.

    We do not have an EM or engineering model for this part.  As far as electrical performance goes, you could use one of the military grade parts for an EM part.

    Note that for some of our products (the ones that came from National Semiconductor), the datasheet covers both the mil and space grade products and they will both show up when you pull the datasheet.

    On ti.com, all the product pages for the space parts end in "-SP', as in DS16F95QML-SP for this part.   In the Ordering & quality tab the space grade parts and EM parts will just show and the mil grade parts will not appear.
