LMH1228: Reset and re-initialization after power on

Part Number: LMH1228

Hi team,

1.After the device power on, customer wants to reset Share, CTLE/CDR, Driver registers.

These registers are reset autmatically after power on, correct? Or, does customer need to reset from host after the device power on?

2. About 3.2.2.2 in Programming guide SNAU206, the re-initialization is done after resetting registers in each register page.

Is it no problem to move other pages during reinitialization?

Regards,

Saito

  • Hi Saito-San,

1). Registers are at default settings on power up and there is no need to reset these registers.

2). During product development, the developer may change many registers  and may not know what registers have been modified. For convenience, without powering down the device, section 3.2.2.2 specifies how to restore register values for share registers, CTLE/CDR registers, or Driver register. Once registers are reset as noted in section 3.2.2.2 we must wait until this is done. Also, please note if user knows what registers have changed he or she can simply change these back to the default values and there is no need to implement section 3.2.2.2.

  • Hi Nasser-san,

Thank you for your answer. Can I clarify the answer 2?

    2) Can I move register page before checking the 0xE2[4] after 0xE2[0] is set?

Or, does cusomer need to check if 0xE2[4] is set before moving other page?

    Regards,

    Saito

  • Hi Saito-San,

Customer must wait for 0xE2[4] to get set before moving to other pages.
