Hi Team,
Just want to double check whether it is correct to connect with 948 and CODEC.
How to connect the Audio_DOUT in CODEC with I2S interface in 948?

Hi Team,

How to connect the Audio_DOUT in CODEC with I2S interface in 948?
Hi Amelie,
I2S is sent over the forward channel. The DIN would be used on codec attached to the 948 deserializer and DOUT would be used to a codec attached to the 949 serializer.
Sincerely,
Bryan Kahler
Hi Bryan,
Thanks for your reply.
Just want to confirm again about DOUT in CODEC connection.
1. Dout in CODEC connect with DB in 948
2. Dout in CODEC connect with SDOUT in 948
3. Dout in CODEC don't need to connect with 948; Dout in CODEC is used to connect with SDOUT in 949
Which one is correct? 1/2/3?
Hi Amelie,
From a systems perspective, what are you trying to achieve?
High fidelity I2S is available unidirectionally from DES to SER, for example, to stream audio from your host processor to speakers located with your display.
Sincerely,
Bryan Kahler
Hi Bryan,
Thanks for your reply.
To achieve stream audio from host processor to CODEC located with your display.
How to deal with SDOUT in 948 and Dout in CODEC?
Hi Amelie,
For the 948, if only 1 channel or TDM is being used, DA will be the data output line that is connected to the input of the CODEC.
As for whether or not to leave the extra output on the CODEC floating/grounded/pulled high, that advice will need to come from datasheet/apps teams associated with the CODEC.
Sincerely,
Bryan Kahler
